Request to Register Procedure for All Classes:
We use an online system for accepting requests to register for our classes. Prior to spring 2025, we honored requests in the order they were received. The demand was so great that the classes often filled in less than 5 minutes of the time that access to the request form was opened.
Given the above occurrence of rapidly filling classes, we refined our online request to register process to provide a hopefully better opportunity to all individuals to participate in a class, including those that have limited access to the Internet at the time registration is opened. We now incorporate a lottery drawing as part of our system for selecting individuals to register for the classes.
Those wishing to register for a class must do so through the online registration request form; the link to the form is provided below. In cases where multiple individuals (parent/child, husband/wife, coworkers, etc) wish to take a class together, only one registration request needs to be submitted for the participants. Be sure to provide all names and contact information as requested on the online form. Upon receipt of all requests submitted during the designated request period (see the above class information), the names of individuals will be randomly selected to fill the available spots in the classes. Individuals will be placed in classes in the order they are selected. Should their first choice of class be filled, the individual will be placed in their second choice, or in their third choice if their second choice is filled, or fourth choice if third choice is filled. Those individuals whose registration request is selected in the class lottery will be contacted via e-mail by the instructor of the class in which they have been placed. Individuals whose registration request is not drawn in the class lottery will be notified via e-mail by the instructors, and placed on a waiting list should a selected individual be unable to participate in a forthcoming class.
An additional element that has been added to the request for registration process is the acceptance of current class participants into the next session of classes prior to the request to register lottery. We believe that it is extremely important for individuals who become enthusiastic for the medium through participation in our classes, to be able to continue their development of skills in the medium without the potential of interruption created by the lottery component. Pottery and the medium of ceramics is demanding of ongoing skill development for the eventual success of the individual. Therefore, space for new students may be slightly reduced, but not be an amount that we believe is detrimental to the acceptance of new students.
