Request for Registration Procedure for All Classes
We’ve been using an online system for accepting requests for registration in our classes. For the past two years we’ve been honoring requests in the order they are received. The demand has been so great that the classes often have filled in less than 15 minutes of the time that access to the request form is opened. We recently filled a class in less than 1 minute after access was opened.

Given the above occurrence of rapidly filling classes, we are further refining our online request for registration process to provide a hopefully better opportunity to all individuals to participate in a class, including those that have limited access to the Internet at the time registration is opened.

Beginning with the Spring 2025 session, we will be incorporating a lottery drawing as part of our system for selecting individuals to register for the classes. Those wishing to register for a class must do so through the link to the online registration request form provided below. Upon receipt of all requests submitted during the designated 48 hour period (see the above class information), the names of approximately 40 individuals will be randomly selected to fill the available spots in the classes. Individuals will be placed in classes in the order they are selected. Should their first choice of class be filled, the individual will be placed in their second choice, or in their third choice if their second choice is filled, or fourth choice if third choice is filled.

An additional element that is being added to the request process is the acceptance of current class participants into the next session of classes prior to the opening of the request for registration process. We believe that it is extremely important for individuals who become enthusiastic for the medium through participation in our classes to be able to continue their development of skills in the medium without the potential of interruption created by the newly incorporated lottery component. Pottery and the medium of ceramics is demanding of ongoing skill development for the eventual success of the individual. Classes may have an average of 1 to 3 ongoing students in each class. Therefore, space for new students may be slightly reduced, but not be no amount that we believe is detrimental to the acceptance of new students.
